Review: Final Fantasy VIII: Remaster – Worth the price?

A Final Fantasy VIII (FFVIII) remaster is something I have wanted for a long time but did not ever expect to see. Final Fantasy VIII is one of those games from the PSOne era that sits in an awkward spot. It is not the earliest of games and therefore is not as graphically flawed, nor did it come at the end of the PSOne cycle when the majority of game developers had overcome most obstacles posed by the system.

Final Fantasy VIII: Remaster release date – 03/08/2019

The release of Final Fantasy VIII: Remaster has been announced and is available for digital Pre-order now. It will release on 03/08/2019 – £15.99.

Writing: What constitutes a good Antagonist?

|Contains massive spoilers for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers|

My first voyage into this sublime series came with Breath of Fire III on the PlayStation One. For a…

It was never as acclaimed as its direct predecessor, Final Fantasy VII, nor managed to evoke the charm of its successor Final Fantasy IX nor the tragedy of Final Fantasy X. For many years while its peers received acclaim and re-releases on modern consoles, mobile and pc, Final Fantasy VIII was…

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – A few months on.

A couple of months ago, I wrote about joining the beta test for Square Enix‘s new MMO: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In the subsequent months it has been launched and I find myself a demi-veteran of the game. I say demi, mainly because work and university commitments get in the way of play time.  So…

After Six years of playing World of Warcraft has the end finally come?

Back in January 2007 an old friend of mine introduced me to World of Warcraft. I recall with relish, his excitement over the release of the first Expansion: the Burning Crusade.
